Our hotel in Orlando

If you know me, you know that I am not a huge fan of staying in hotels(comes from my mother telling me how horrible they are with germs and watching shows on germs in hotel room) I love you mom!!

So this is a picture of our resort that we stayed at with Wes' company. The room was awesome and i think the best room I have ever stayed in. I only found one hair on our mattress pad and that was from the housecleaning I am sure.

This place is called Omni Orlando Resort in Champion's Gate. The link is of their pictures, go check them out as I only took the outside pictures. The place was awesome and very nice. Spendy also, which is why we did not stay there the extra night. We opted to get another hotel that was closer to downtown Disney.

Since we had never been to Orlando and not sure where to stay, I asked a friend who went there and she gave me some suggestions. Wes and I looked up hotels and checked the locations and thought okay we will pay what we would normally pay for a hotel and we should get a descent one. Of course not one like we just came from, but a decent one.

We finally found our hotel. the Orlando Vista Hotel. though it looks good, booked it through Hotels.com and paid for the room.

We finally find our hotel it was not where we though it was and we go inside to check in. There was this smell that hit us when we walked in. WE could not quite place it, but checked in and got our key number and up we went. We were on the 3rd floor, had all our luggage and we start noticing this hotel is VERY old and has not been remodeled EVER. Very small elevators. WE walk down the very badly, not pictures on the walls hallway and we get to our room. Open the door and BAM hit with a bad smoking smell. this is suppose to be a Smoke -free hotel. I told Wes, I can't handle this, this is bad,so I call the front desk and tell him and he says we can switch rooms. Go back downstairs, which I made Wes come with me because we had not seen anyone else in the hallway and it was scary.

In the lobby I finally recognize the smell. a MEAT LOCKER. If you have ever been to a butcher's shop or a place that has fresh cut meat and that is all, that is what this hotel lobby smelled like. Not good my friends. Back upstairs we go, now we are wishing we had not booked a room in advance because we would like to leave and go someplace nice. Our room this time is not so bad, had a strange smell to it, but just did not have a clean feel. One of the beds was broken, luckily there were 2 beds. the only place I felt comfortable sitting down was on the bed. I must say the BEDS were CLEAN. VERY CLEAN and they had fitted sheets. A plus. but that is about it for this place. I could go on and and on, but you know how it goes, if you have ever stayed in a hotel like this. Yes we could of left , but would be out the money we had just paid. So we left to head to downtown Disney and came back and went to bed. I did not feel comfortable walking around with our something on my feet though. So I always had my flip flops on. Oh well!! The bathroom was clean, but oh the shower and the toilet, just not good.

Let's just say I was never so happy to get out of a hotel and to an airport. HAHAHA. It was an experience and I would say it was the 2nd worse hotel we have ever stayed in. but at lease the beds were nice and CLEAN. No hairs of any kind anywhere on them. ;)

this was a long blog, but if you know me, you know how much this killed me to stay in this hotel. Such is life though and I did live through it. But I am not happy with hotel.com and them saying it was an acceptable hotel.

Hey Jodi- I have a blog question for you...how did you get your pregnancy ticker to appear above the posts? I've been trying for a half hour now and its not sticking! Frustrating but I just love your idea about putting it there!

hey kid, wow, i know that was tough for you!!!! my recommendation... CONTACT hotels.com and do a complaint - BIG TIME!!!!!
other folks need to know and they need to get them off their list.... they have a review option.

Wow, that stinks! I always read the reviews that other guests have written before I even consider staying there. They can be a real eye opener sometimes : ) I'm with your Mom, go there and write your own review and let others know!!
