Accident... Fun weekend

It has been a while since I have posted, but you know how life can get crazy busy and time just flies and before you know it, the day is over and the weekend is gone and the month of January is almost over.

Thought I would let you know what I did this past weekend. Can you guess it from the title. some of you don't freak out. Everything is good and I am alright. ;0)

This past weekend, Wes and I took 8 of our high schoolers from church up to a Winter camp for a retreat. We were all loaded and rented a van, everyone had seatbelts on and things were going well. About an hour into our trip well, the little white car decided that he wanted to come into our lane, which everyone ahead of him was breaking, so he slammed on his brakes and then went over to the left and hit the suburban in front of him. Wes started slowing down and moving over to the right and the white car also decided to move over to the right, so Wes HIT the white car. Which then the white car then hit the suburban again and sent it spinning in the middle of the intersection. Thankfully we missed hitting the suburban again or the white car. We all pulled over to the side of the road and Wes called the cops.
Everyone in our van was freaked out and scared and wondering what was going on. They all handled it very well and we talked through things. No one was hurt in our van or either of the other 2 cars. We praise God for that.
It took a while for the cops to come and then process everything. But after about an hour we were on our way again. Wes did not get a ticket, the officer was so very nice to Wes and the whole van. It was a crazy experience. We praise God that no one was hurt and we were able to continue onto our destination. It put us behind about a whole 1 1/2 hours. We got to Camp just as the chapel was starting and we were known as the group who had the accident.

The weekend was great. Had lots of play time and the speaker was amazing. I think it really made our teens think. The speaker was speaking specifically to teens who have been saved and grown up in the church and how their hearts are hardened. He was very good!! It made me think alot also. They all had a great time and want to do it again this summer and for sure next winter.
We got to go tubing and ice skating and play in the snow and play games and just hang out together.
Wes and I praise God that it was a great weekend and we were privileged to take the teens up and have fun with them and invest more time into them and get to know them better. We love spending time with the youth. they give us so much energy and appreciate life so much.
Pray with us that God would continue to use us in these teens lives and in our youth group and we could continue to have the heart for them and have more time to spend with them.

It was a tiring weekend, but we would not change it at all!! So much fun and totally worth the little sleep and aching bodies!! :)
that was my weekend. so much more to tell, but if you have worked with youth you know how fun and rewarding it can be or is at times and all the fun you have. :0)
All is good, the van was turned back in with no problems and as far as we know, no one had sore necks and any other problems from the accident. We continue to praise God for his arms protecting us and watching over us.

Glad to hear you're alright. I was kind of nervous when I read the title. It's great to know God is in control, isn't it?
