TRUSTY CHOPSTICKS?

You are probably thinking, that I ate Chinese, because of the title. NOPE. Let me just tell you how upset and pissed off i am right now.
Let me start from the beginning.
Wes worked a little late tonignth, he was suppose to be home at 6pm, but did not get home till almost 7pm. Dinner was done at 6:30, so that just starts things bad. Anyways, Since Wes was not home yet and I had dinner already and had already gone for a bike ride, I thought. I will work in the yard. Beautiful day out, no bugs, perfect for working in the yard!!! Which that was a good thing. Helped me little bit.
I have let my yard go a little this summer, but am trying to reign it back in,last week sometime I started over in a corner and thought I will work my way around, till the side of the yard is completed and go to the next. So the corner is down and now I and pulling weeds and get to this bush. Oh this bush is like not other BUSH. I have not trimmed this bush since we have moved into the house. So the last time it was trimmed or cut back was the summer of 2002. (yes I know it is 2006) that is 4 years people. When you hear about this bush you will understand why I have not trimmed it since we moved in.
So you can imagin the size of this thing, stood almost 5 feet tall and them is about 3 feet wide and 2 ft. thick. It is a big bush right, that is not all!!!! IT HAS THORNS!!!! and not thorns like on a rose bush, that I could handle. They are all over and small and from tip to root. So there is not grabbing a spot and putting it into the garbage bag.
So maybe this picture will help you get a good idea of what the the thorns look like.

See they are huge. So I trimmed the bush as much as i could and them came the chopsticks. See with thorns like these, the only way I knew how to get them into the bag was using my pruning clippers.

So that is what I used. That is why I said I used Chopsticks. It was like using chopsticks to pick up weeds. Seriously!!! I had my gloves on and used these wonderful things to pick up every SINGLE branch!! It was horrible. It took me like 2 hours to cut the bush and then pick up all the stuff.
Why? Why? Would someone in there RIGHT mind, but a bush in thier yard that has thorns. Oh yes it looks pretty, it is amber and purple, but it is a horrible, horrible thing. Why would you do that to yourself? I have to tell you I was So mad, I was not thinking very happy thoughts or good thought. I know, you might not understand that, but you come and trim this bush and tell me what you are thinking. LOL
I did stick with it, cuz you can't leave the branches laying around, but I was not happy when I was finished. I was happy I was done, but so not happy that this bush took so much of my time and pissed me off so bad.
So not that you care about my bush trimming or my pissed offness. I wanted to share this with you to let you know. NEVER BUY A BUSH WITH THORNS. Know I don't have a problem with rose bushes, those are different kinds of thorns and you can break those off, plus you get a beautiful flower out of the pricks.
SO here are the other picures i took during this ordeal.
The finished product. I think I will just digg it out!!!!

Oh...that was my favorite bush...why did you trim it???

J/K I didn't even realize it was there. I think I would go for digging it out...otherwise you will have to trim it again!

Wow Jodi, you really were mad. It reminded me of how bad your temper could get when we were little ;) J/K

Glad you got it all trimmed up but I'm with Tina, dig it out!! Plant something else there that will serve as a reminder of how hard that thing was to take care of!!
