My husband and I are doing the Financial Peace University by Dave Ramsey. We are in our 3rd week and it as been fun up until now. This week we have to set up a budget and some other things. Hopefully it will go well. All that to say, that in the first week, Dave talks about how things are going to happen to you as you take this course and you set up budgets. Things will continually come up to take your money.
Today, I decided to move my fridge(after 5 years) out and clean behind out. I found some problems. I found a rust spot on the back of our fridge that trails down the fridge and then rust on top of the plug and outlet plug. Not sure if that is a problem, might be a fire hazard, then the wall behind the fridge is breaking. We think there is moisture coming from the back of the fridge and ruining the wall. So we have to get that figured out and hope we don't have an electric fire.
Today, my sis came to do laundry at my house. I noticed that it was taking ALONG time to dry her clothes. Didn't think much of it, until I realized the dryer was still going after like 3 hours. Went down stairs and the outside of the dryer was ICE COLD. The clothes inside some how were dry, but don't know. Put a new load of wet clothes in the dryer and waited about 20 mins and then realized IT WAS NOT DRYING THE CLOTHES!! COME ONE.
2 major appliances that I use everyday, has problems are are not working. MY GOODNESS. Good thing we have an emergency fund to cover these.
So I will call an appliance guy tomorrow to see if they can be fixed, instead of having to purchase new ones.
Such exciting times. Got to laugh and smile right. I know my husband is and I am trying too.:)

Go FPU! We love that course. We took it about 6 years ago and learned so much. It's so amazing to realize just how much you're wasting money each month. Jeff and I love being on a budget and watching our savings increase. It is hard though when stuff starts happening and you watch that emergency fund take a dive! We have definitely had our share of troubles since taking that course though. Just remember that God is in control and won't let anything happen that He can't handle.
Let me know if you need any budgeting tips this week! If you didn't use coupons before, they might start being your best friend during budget crunches :o)
