Just a Hello

Don't have much to post about today.
I think SPRING is finally here in MI. I have seen the leaves of my tulips coming up in my yard and that very much excites me. Last Sunday, I was out in capri's and short sleeve shirt raking up leaves from the fall. BEAUTIFUL weather.
I love spring and warm weather. I think I was meant to be living in warm weather. I love everything about warm weather and spring and summer!!! Oh well, It was not a horrible winter and now it is behind us and spring and warm weather are here and hopefully will be staying!!!! AH, there is nothing better then sitting or standing in the SUN and letting it just hit your whole body!!! And wearing flip flops or sandals all the time. MM... Love it.
I told my Husband the other day it was time to get our my picnic table and hummock. Such fun. Eating a grilled out dinner outside and laying in the hammock, reading and falling asleep in the warm hot sun. He is not ready to get out the table yet, cuz he knows it means we will be eating outside ALOT!!! It is good for him.

We grilled for the first time last night. Hamburgers, grill did not want to start, so Husband got is started and, it was the first grill of the season, no the best, but it will not take us long to get to be pros again and enjoy our many meals on the grill.
My husband said last night as we were about to eat," I love summer meals!"

Right now that is the excitement going on in our lives. Hey, it is good with me. :0)

We did go to a mega baby store last weekend. WOW! Talk about OVERWHELMING. My younger sis had told us to go in before we registered to help figure out what we wanted. Oh man are we glad we listened to you Miss Muffett. Thanks for the advice. It was very overwhelming and even though I had done some research, we left knowing we had much more research to do and things to decide and figure out before we go buy anything or even register. We have a friend at our church who has a bunch of baby stuff and is going to let us have some stuff and allow us to borrow some items. MAN. I am so very excited and thankful for this friend and her willingness to give us stuff and borrow other items. She is a God-send.
When we were looking at all this stuff, like cribs, car seats/strollers, pack-n-plays, dressers/changing tables and gliders, Wes kept saying, "do we need this?" So we are trying to decide what is really necessary for a new baby in our house and what we can get from friends or used or maybe for a cheaper price at a different store. (all this, with us putting ourselves onto a budget. Stuff is spendy when you think your money is not limitless. )
Please pray for us that we would have direction in what to get and what to register for and to be good stewards with the money God has blessed us with!!
There is so much with a baby. WOW! Why did no one tell me this stuff?! ;0) Are any of my other prego friends running into this?

That is all for today. Hope you have a good day and enjoy the warmth of the spring sun and the flowers and all the spring stuff in bloom.

Hey...I have some advice for you..as much as you like warm weather, the sun, grilling out and being outside...MOVE TO ARIZONA! Seriously...there are only about 3 months of the year we don't go outside, but we can still wear flip flops! :)

The whole kid thing...HAVE FUN!

Not that I want to loose you to AZ but I agree with Tina...and I think there might be a house for sale there that the owners might be willing to work with you ;o). Aren't stores like that crazy! Oh my, yeah you leave thinking i can't afford to have all the stuff we need...well what they make you think you need and what you actually need are quite different :) i've got that book still on all sorts of products, i'll try to get it to you on sunday. HAPPY SPRING!

Hey Darlin!
I'm ready for grilled burgers too...when are we invited? :)jk
As for baby stuff- they really DON'T need all the extra's. A bed and car seat are wonderful and necessary. You could get the crib/ changing table at garage sales, craigslist or second hand shops. A pack and play is good for grandma's but kids sleep just fine in their carseats! A rocking chair is nice but not really necessary (our legs rock just fine!). Clothing is good! :) Don't try getting bottles until you know you won't be nursing (if it comes to that). Babies can be quite particular to bottle types. The basic musts for the beginning are onesies, a few birp cloths, blankets, a binky, nursing pads, clothing, a snug hat and a coat, a baby bathtub, soap and LOTS and lots of diapers and wipes!! ;)
It'll be fun! Russ and I registred and I laughed at him because he just went wild and I kept telling him we won't even use that much stuff but its SO crazy to look at binkies for 0, 3,6,9,and 12 months. Wouldn't one work just fine for the whole time?!!!Anyway- sometimes less is more until you gather your bearings and find what you and your sweet baby like or could use.
Tata for now!

I know what you mean about those big baby stores! Holy cow, you could go broke shopping there!!

I'll have to send you an email and tell you what I think the basics are for now. Maybe that will help. Although sounds like lots of people have given you some great advice already! Just have fun with it!!
