JEEP RIDE

Sorry it has taken me so long to let you hear about the jeep ride. Crazy life right now.
But here goes, let's see if I can remember this. HAHA just kidding. I remember.
Wes and I were on our Labor Day weekend trip. We headed out to Silver Lake Dunes and attempted for the 4 and final time to drive a rented jeep on our own on the dunes.
Wes kept asking me if I felt alright. I said, "even if I was dying we are not stopping this close." We got to Parrot's Landing, got our jeep rented, had to get instructions on what hills we could not go on(becuase they are WAY to big) and all that jazz and off we went. We got lost trying to get to the park, but found out way. Pretty much follow anyone with a SUV, tall orange flag stucking up and you will find the entry to the dunes. We finally found the entrance to the dunes, went through all the check points needed and up the hill we went to the dunes. You have to go really slow up the hill as there are wopdangs or dips really close together. Around the corner we went and wow there are all the dunes!!! TONS OF THEM AND LOTS OF SUV AND dirt bikes and 4-wheelers. CRAZINESS.
Right as you come onto the dunes is Test hill(which we can not go on). It is HUGE. You are so cool and awesome if you can make it up Test hill!! Good thing we were told not to go on it, cuz as insane as Wes and I are, I think we might would of tried it that day. It is fun to sit at the bottom of the hill and watch as people try to get up it and some to even make it no problem. Others get stuck. HAHAHA.
Wes was a little nervous at first. Going slow making sure he was in control. Up and down hills we went and around and over to the water. Not going very fast. But finally he got the hang of it. OH MNA what a blast. Even though we had waited so long for this ride, it was worth it. So much fun and INSANE!!! if you ever get the chance to do it, go for it. We had a total blast. Wes drove for a little over half of our time, so then he asked if i wanted to drive. When we first got on the dunes, I was thinking I would not drive. To scary, but then after I had been BOUNCING around in the passenger seat for well over and 1 1/2. I was like, HECK YES I AM DRIVING!!!! MOVE ON OVER WES!!
It was a blast. I was very much scarying my husband. I think I get that from my mom! :0) Oh man, what a rush, it was so much fun, bouncing all over the place and drive up fast up the dunes and then coming to the top of a hill and then just driving down it. hitting the bottome of two hills and feeling the bottom of the jeep hit all they way up in your chest!! WOW. It was AWESOME!!
would totally do it again. It was a beautiful day so we could see very well and there was not cover on the jeep. Just a great time.
At one point, i did stop the jeep and tell Wes that he was driving. He was driving me nuts, telling me where to go, to slow down and sighing heavily. Not much fun for the driver when the passenger is doing that. soI stopped the jeep and said, " I am done, I am not having any fun driving this thing with you sitting over there, telling me where to go to watch out for the dirt bike that is forever away and not coming in my direction. I am having fun and I am being safe. I will not hurt you. But i am done driving." he said he would calm down and try to enjoy the trip in the passenger's seat.
After that, we had a blast. Wes said the passenger seat is way to bumpy. I agreed. Over all, we had so much fun, could not of asked for a more perfect day. finished our jeep ride, returned the jeep all in one piece. (there was a point we thought we had hit bottom so hard we lost something, but everything was good). Will give you some pictures to look at and then will tell you about the light house in the next blog. So the blogspot will not allow me to post pictures for some reason. Will keep trying.
