The lake

On Saturday, we took the youth to the WArren Sanddunes on Lake Michigan. There were about 16 of us that went. It was a beautiful day! Sunny, warm and the water was cool. It was a perfect day to go to the beach. I think everyone had a good time. Hung out, ate, played in the water a lot and then also some of the kids hiked up the sand dunes that are there. ;) A guy in our church gave the youth this ball that is called the Plat bal. It flattens like a frisbee or pops up to a ball and it can be a total blast in the water. WE played with that a lot.
Over all it was a great time. I think the youth want to like to go back, which is cool. It was great to connect with more of the girls and continue to grow the relationships we are building. It is taking time and still I wonder WHAT IN THE WORLD AM I DOING WORKING WITH YOUTH? But God is stretching me and growing me. I desire for these girls and the whole group to know Christ and understand the AWESOME relationship they can have with Christ. Living for him or being a Christian is not about a do and don't list. It is knowing Christ as your savior and having a walk with him everyday and growing in that. The things you do or don't do, are out of love for him and an understanding that he love you, not becuase you have too. It can be exciting to know Christ and have a relationship with him. There can be JOY in your life!!
It is taking time, but God is working. Please pray for Wes and I as we feel inadequite at times and know that as long as we are willing for God to work through us and use us, his work will be done.
The rest of the weekend was great. Just Wes and I spending time together and hanging out. Oh we did go out with our friends, shane and Diane. That was fun.
It was a great weekend all around.
